Sonora High School's Camille Harris and Water Valley's Kenzie Jordan recorded top marks in track and field competition over the weekend.
Harris, coming off a fourth-place finish at the Class 3A UIL State Cross Country Championships, broke a meet record in the 800 meters at the Cactus Relays on Saturday, March 2 in Iraan.
Harris also won the 1,600 and anchored Sonora's gold-medal 4x400 relay to help lead the Lady Broncos to the team championship.
Jordan, a two-time 1A state champion in the 200, won that event Friday, March 1 at the Wildcat Relays in Water Valley. She also ran on Water Valley's gold-medal 4x100 and 4x200 relays.
She was also second in the high jump. Jordan qualified to state last year in all four of those events.
Both are headed to college athletic careers. Harris is set to run for the University of Houston, while Jordan — who was all-state in volleyball four years in a row — will play volleyball for Angelo State.
The Ozona boys won the team title over Sonora at the Cactus Relays.
Rankin won the boys team title at Water Valley, while Blackwell won the girls team title.
